A Graduate in B.sc Visual Communication Design from the Govt. College of Arts & Crafts, Niloufer is interested and involved in the arts and crafts field since 1974. She has participated in a number of art competitions and exhibitions and has received several participation, merit and prize certificates.

From 1985 to 1989, during her 5 year education at the Govt. College of Arts and Crafts, she exhibited her work at the Fritz Kramp Award Exhibition in 1985 and also received an outstanding Miniature Painting Award at Kalakriti, a workshop on creative art, at A.C. Tech in 1987. In 1998, she attended a course in painting and drawing at the San Francisco Art Institute, under the guidance of Mr. Jeff Anderson. After her return, she trained under Mr. Valson Kolleri in terracotta and bronze sculpture. Besides these activities, she participated in the AIDS awareness programme held at the Lalit Kala Akademi by the Alliance Francaise of Madras. She also received the Tamil Nadu Ovia Nunkalai Kuzhu One Man Show Grant in 1999.

Currently she is doing freelance sculpture and painting for interior designers and private clients. Some of her works are exhibited at The Gandhinagar Club, Chennai, Mo Mani Music Productions, Canada, B.W.I.T.C. Ltd., Mumbai, and many other private collections in India and abroad.

She is now showcasing her works of sculpture at the Portfolio, Ground Floor of Apparao Galleries, 7, Wallace Gardens, 3rd Street, Chennai - 600 006. Ph: 827 2226
