Born: Bengal, 1st October, 1933

Qualification:
Graduated from Govt. College of Arts & Crafts Calcutta. with a 1st Class and ranked first in 1954.
Received Gold Medal for Painting from Calcutta University Institute

Career:
Joined Ms J Walter Thompson in 1954 as an illustrator, moved to madras in 1957 as a visualizer. Became an Art Director in 1960, and promoted to creative group head in 1973,retired from HTA in 1993.Hindustan Thomson Associate presented the “SILVER OWL” the highest honor for creative work within the organization.

He has done thousands of sketches of the madras city and the Southern states for the last 49 years.

A book on Chennai “Madras that is Chennai QUEEN OF THE COROMENDEL” was published by BPI (India) Pvt. Ltd. Written by Mr. S Muthiah and illustrated by the Artiest with hundreds of illustration of the city .British council sponsored an Exhibition with those visuals in their gallery. He had solo exhibitions and group shows.

His drawing and paintings adorn several Government and Private collections in India and abroad today.
