With a Diploma in Painting from the Govt. College of Arts & Crafts, Chennai and training in Fresco Painting at the Banasthalai Vidyapith, Rajasthan, he has held solo exhibitions and participated in the Group Shows of Tamil Nadu Ovia Nunkalai Kuzhu (1980 – 1992) and the Exhibition of Contemporary Art at Chandigarh (1994) and in Art Camps. He has received the Merit Award from his alma mater (1980 - 81); All India Christianity Award (1980); Fine Arts Association Award (1981); Tamil Nadu Ovia Nunkalai Kuzhu Award (1995); Award of the South – Central Zone Cultural Centre at Nagapur (1987): Kala Kriti award (1992-93) and the National Award. (1993-94).
